Hudson
Gardens, located in Littleton along the bank of the South Platte River, is
a garden treasure. Encompassing
30 acres, it consists of sixteen distinct garden areas including a rose
garden, garden railroad, water garden, rock garden, xeriscape garden,
conifer grove and deciduous woodlands.
This
regional display garden, which opened in 1996, offers something of
interest year-round. The main
attractions in spring are early-blooming perennials and splendid displays
of bulbs. The highlight of
the summer season is the magnificent Oval Garden, a perennial bed
measuring more than 21,000 square feet with more than 7000 plants!
Delightful water lilies and lotus in the Water Garden pools are an
additional summer treat. Autumn
brings fall color and late-blooming flowers such as asters.
Winter features include ornamental grasses and snow-covered
conifers.
Garden
