USDA Plant Hardiness Zone Map
What is my USDA hardiness zone?  Look it up here

Knowing your 2012 USDA Plant Hardiness Zone is a useful tool when selecting plants for your garden.  The zones are based on an area's average annual minimum winter temperature.  Use the link above to find out your zone.  Then, when you are shopping for plants you should check the zone listed on the plant's tag or label to see if it is suited to your zone.  Planting a perennial, shrub or tree whose hardiness zone is Zone 9 in an area that is in Zone 5 means that the plant is likely to freeze and die in winter.
